Our clients were looking to extend their existing farmhouse to create a new room which would take advantage of the views over the farmland to the rear and provide them with somewhere light and airy to use as additional living space, but without overpowering and ruining the character of the existing property.
We created a large sitting room extension to the side, with glazed doors connecting the property to the outside and providing uninterrupted views over the adjoining countryside.
The materials palette was carefully selected to ensure the extension blended into the existing property. The new stonework was artificially ‘aged’ by the stonemasons.
We worked closely with the Planning Department to help realise a scheme that maximised the development potential of this property which is located in Greenbelt and as such has very restrictive planning conditions.
